Huawei and NTT DOCOMO to Create a New Record of 5G

[Japan, Tokyo, December 7, 2017] Huawei and Japan's largest mobile operator, NTT DOCOMO, completed a 5G millimeter-wave field test in the 28 GHz band at Tokyo Sky Tree.

Huawei 5G base station supports key technologies such as Massive MIMO and beamforming and successfully implements long-distance data transmission of millimeter waves. In this test, Huawei provided an end-to-end network system composed of 5G core network, 5G base station, and 5G millimeter-wave terminal. At the same time, the two companies jointly conducted a true 5G holographic video call service demonstration. Experiences were accessed by Microsoft Hololens helmet, and the other side of the holographic video call, immersive experience smooth and clear process without catapult.
