Power Supply Problem Causes Failure of OSN2500 Expansion

Problem Description

OSN 2500 on a certain station is configured with slots 6, 3, and 4 as ssn2pq1, slot 8 as ssn1eft8, slot 9 and slot 10 as SSQ5CXLL16, and the ssn1slq4 board is expanded in slot 11 and slot 12, respectively. After the ssn1slq4 board, alarms such as BD_STATUS and COMMUN_FAIL occurred on other boards of the device and the bearer service was faulty.

Solution of Huawei OSN2500

1. On-site processing, first pull out the 10-slot CXL board, expand SLQ4, and find that the expansion can be normal, indicating that the SLQ4 board is normal; replace the 10-slot CXL board, insert the board, the fault reappears, indicating 10 slots The CXL board is normal;

2, Replace the 8-slot EFT board, the phenomenon is still;

3, Replace the machine frame, the phenomenon is still;

4. The boards were tested one by one after plugging and unplugging. No board abnormality was found. At the same time, the test found that the 8-bit EFT or 10-slot CXL or 9-slot CXL could work normally if a single board was not inserted.

5. Analyze the power consumption of the equipment. According to the current situation of the board, the actual power consumption of the equipment is 236W. Refer to the UPM-GIE4805S data. The 4805 single module with a load capacity of 270W can fully meet the equipment power requirements.

6. Turn off the power supply of the PIU of the device and find that the device cannot work normally. Many boards do not start up. If the power supply to the other PIU is turned off, the same phenomenon may occur. The judgment may be a customer's external power problem or an external UPM fault.

7. Check the customer's external power supply. The customer's external power supply is normal to other switches, routers, and MSAPs. The judgment should be UPM. After removing the UPM check, it was found that the power output connection on the UPM side was incorrect. There are three output terminals on the UPM side, namely LOAD1 (load 1 interface), LOAD2 (load 2 interface), and BAT (battery interface). To the BAT interface, the output current index of the interface is ≤ 3A, so it can not meet the power requirements of the equipment. After the equipment power is connected to the LOAD1 port, the equipment works normally and the problem is solved.
