Outdoor Macro Base Station BS8900A
ZTE ZXSDR BS8900A is an outdoor integrated macro base station based on ZTE soft base station platform. It performs functions such as baseband modulation and demodulation, RF signal transmission and demodulation, wireless resource allocation, call processing, power control, and soft handoff.
Product highlights
Smaller equipment room space
- ZTE ZXSDR BS8900A requires smaller equipment room space, which saves equipment room civil engineering and rental costs.
- ZXSDR BS8900A is the smallest outdoor base station with 48 sectors in the industry. It occupies only 0.36 m2.
High applicability
- ZXSDR BS8900A is applicable to multiple scenarios.
- ZXSDR BS8900A is applicable to outdoor scenarios featuring medium or high capacity, wide coverage, and multiple bands.
Lower costs
- ZXSDR BS8900A saves the labor cost for network construction and engineering implementation cost.
- ZXSDR BS8900A features a small size, light weight, and easy transportation and installation.
- CDMA20001X shares transmission equipment with EV-DO, which saves the transmission equipment rental cost.
Easy upgrade and expansion
- ZXSDR BS8900A is easy to upgrade and expand, and the capital expenditure (CAPEX) in the early network period can be reduced.
- ZXSDR BS8900A supports a single sector for a single carrier, a single sector for multiple carriers, and multiple sectors for multiple carriers. The number of cabinets can be adjusted flexibly depending on the configuration.
Saved power
Compared with traditional base stations, ZXSDR BS8900A consumes less power, reducing power supply investment, electricity fee, and network operating expenditure (OPEX).
Easier network building
ZXSDR BS8900A simplifies network building. Ethernet access over the Abis interface brings telecom operators with the following benefits:
- The cost of IP network construction or rental is reduced, thereby reducing the transmission CAPEX and OPEX.
- Ethernet access provides larger bandwidth, which fully meets the bandwidth requirements of rapidly developing multimedia services such as data and video services.
- Compared with E1/T1, the IP networking mode features flexible networking, high scalability, and easy implementation of cross-region networking and capacity expansion.
Higher capacity
ZXSDR BS8900A provides high capacity and reduces CAPEX.
- A single cabinet provides CDMA20001X and EV-DO channel resources for up to 48 sectors, which reduces the CAPEX of network construction and capacity expansion.
- The RSU supports up to eight carriers, which is unrivaled in the industry, and provides strong system expansion capability.
Supporting smooth evolution
The forward-looking universal base station platform supports smooth evolution in the future.
The BBU adopts the platform that features future-oriented B3G and 4G design. The same hardware platform supports different standard systems or multiple standard systems coexist in the same base station. This helps telecom operators simplify management and combine multiple types of base stations that require investment into a single type of base station (multi-mode base station) so that operators can select the direction of future network evolution flexibly and end users can perceive network transparency and smooth evolution.
More advanced architecture
ZXSDR BS8900A adopts the industry-leading uTCA.
- The uTCA adopts a standard profile, compact design and brick-type architecture, and brings high operation effectiveness and cost-effectiveness.
- The power-on management mode of uTCA is more reliable.
- ZTE launches the first uTCA-based base station in the industry, leading technology advancement.
